Conservation

We recommend storing the nougat in a cool (16ºC) and dry place, away from direct heat sources. A basement or wine cellar are possible solutions, as long as you leave the products in their original packaging and tightly closed.

Keep in mind that nougat should be enjoyed at about 20ºC, this helps its flavors develop.

Accompany the nougat with mineral water so that the flavors can be expressed. Our advisors can provide you with information about the tasting when you place the order.

Turrón Jijona - 500g

Own manufacture limited

In 1990, the Regulatory Council of the Turrón de Jijona and Turrón de Alicante Designation of Origin was created to protect and promote the authenticity of this product. Only those nougats made in the delimited geographical area and following traditional methods can boast this distinction.

The Origin of Jijona Turron

The history of Jijona nougat dates back to the 15th and 16th centuries, when the Arabs introduced the technique of making this sweet treat from almonds, honey and sugar to the region. Over time, the master nougat makers of Jijona perfected the recipe, giving rise to a unique and high-quality product.

The Secret of Artisanal Production

At Bombonería Pons, the process of making Jijona nougat remains an art. Each step, from the selection of Marcona almonds to the mixing and shaping, is carried out manually and with the greatest care. The mixing of the ingredients, the roasting of the almonds and the cooking point are crucial to obtaining the soft and creamy texture that characterises this sweet.

The Benefits of Craftsmanship

In addition to its exceptional flavour, hand-made Jijona nougat offers numerous benefits. The absence of preservatives and artificial additives makes it a healthy and natural option. Furthermore, the use of top-quality raw materials, such as Marcona almonds, provides superior nutritional value.

A Tradition That Endures

At Bombonería Pons, the production of Jijona nougat has been passed down from generation to generation, keeping a centuries-old tradition alive. Every Christmas season, the company's master nougat makers put a lot of effort into producing this sweet treat, ensuring that every bite is an authentic gastronomic experience.

Whether you enjoy it with your family, share it with friends or give it to your loved ones, Bombonería Pons' Jijona nougat is a delight that evokes the essence of traditional Spain. Discover the magic of this artisanal sweet and be captivated by its unique flavour.
